VV Hoogeveen put in an outstanding performance to claim a 5-0 victory over Spartans.

The boys are looking to put the first game behind them and have the chance to bounce back straight away against TRW Manchester.

Despite another loss, there are positives to take for the Spartans, who managed to break their tournament deadlock and score two goals through Archie Aitken and Reilly Cameron.

The teams are out as the first match of the day is set to get underway against Sale United (1). Having got off to a fantastic start with a win in their first game, Sale have lost their previous three matches so Spartans will be right up for this one.

WIN AT LAST

They’ve done it! Spartans have a win in the tournament and in some style putting four goals past the English. Archie Aitken was the star of the show scoring twice, while Lewis Barrie and Reilly Cameron added one each to the tally.

There’s a great opportunity for the team to back up their last result as they face SV Gramsbergen (2) who are yet to find a win in this competition.

ANOTHER POINT ON THE BOARD

The squad is looking to keep their unbeaten streak going but it won’t be easy as they come up against PB Soccer. The Dutch outfit are looking incredible so far in this competition having lost just one game out of six.

NARROW DUTCH DEFEAT

Despite the relentless nature of the Dutch side throughout this weekend Spartans put in a hard-fought performance to keep them to just a one-goal deficit. The results and performances today have been such an upgrade on yesterday and the boys can go into the fifth-place playoff with full confidence.

5TH-PLACE PLAYOFF

After some brilliant games today Spartans have pulled themselves out of the bottom two and now have the opportunity to finish fifth in the tournament coming up against Sale United (2). It won’t be easy at all though, after a 2-0 defeat to the English opposition yesterday.
